In the year 65 or 66 AH, the Governor of Iraq then, Mukhtar al-Thaqafi (peace be upon him), ordered the construction of the mosque and walls around the grave. The building was of clay and mud, which was the first building. A village was built around the two holy shrines, which became the nucleus of the city of Karbala. This work is produced by the animation unit of the al-Kafeel Network/ Department of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
